The Saudi Football Federation has officially announced the termination of Roberto Mancini’s contract as the head coach of the Saudi national team. This decision was made through mutual agreement, with the board expressing gratitude to Mancini for his contributions during his time with the team. The search for a new head coach is currently underway, with an announcement expected to be made in the coming days after completion of the official contractual procedures.

Mancini took over as head coach of the Saudi national team in August of last year, signing a contract that was supposed to last until 2027. However, after a disappointing performance in the Asian Cup 2023 held in Doha in January, where Saudi Arabia was eliminated in the Round of 16, and a challenging start in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the decision was made to terminate his contract. During the qualifiers, the team secured only one victory against China, while facing losses to Japan and draws against Indonesia and Bahrain at home in Jeddah.

The Saudi Football Federation is now in search of a new head coach to lead the national team. The board has indicated that an announcement regarding Mancini’s successor will be made in the coming days once all official contractual procedures have been completed. The federation expressed its gratitude towards Mancini for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors as they look towards a fresh start under new leadership.

The decision to terminate Mancini’s contract comes after a series of disappointing results for the Saudi national team under his tenure. The team’s early exit from the Asian Cup 2023 and their struggles in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers were significant factors in the federation’s decision to part ways with the Italian coach. Moving forward, the board is looking to bring in a new coach who can help the team achieve better results and perform at a higher level in future competitions.

Mancini’s tenure as head coach was met with mixed results, as the team faced challenges and setbacks in key competitions. Despite his efforts to lead the team to success, the results were not up to the federation’s expectations, leading to the decision to terminate his contract. The search for a new head coach will be crucial in determining the future direction of the Saudi national team and their goals of achieving success on the international stage in upcoming tournaments.

In conclusion, the Saudi Football Federation’s decision to terminate Roberto Mancini’s contract as head coach of the national team marks the end of a challenging period for the team. As they look ahead to the future, the federation is focused on finding a new coach who can lead the team to success and help them achieve their goals in upcoming competitions. The announcement of Mancini’s successor is eagerly awaited, and fans are hopeful that the team will see improved results under new leadership. With a fresh start on the horizon, the Saudi national team is ready to turn the page and embark on a new chapter under the guidance of a new head coach.
