Authorities in Abu Dhabi have issued a warning to residents about high-speed winds causing dust and dirt to be blown onto the roads, making driving and walking hazardous. The Department of Municipalities and Transport Al Dhafrah Region advised residents to close doors and windows to keep dust out of buildings and urged motorists to follow safety rules. Residents were also advised to avoid direct exposure to dust and dirt and to stay updated on weather forecasts from official authorities.

In preparation for weather fluctuations, safety procedures were outlined, including stopping demolition operations and machinery use, installing temporary barriers and signs around work sites, removing volatile materials, and halting lifting operations with cranes and platforms. Workers were to be informed of safety measures, and work in high and open areas as well as heavy equipment movement were to be stopped. Tower cranes were to be secured according to specifications to withstand strong winds.

The UAE is currently experiencing a surface low-pressure system along with an upper-air ridge from a high-pressure system, leading to the possibility of convective cloud formation and potential rainfall in the afternoon. As summer approaches in the UAE, temperatures have started rising above 40°C, with the sighting of the ‘Al Shurtan’ constellation marking the beginning of the hot season. Residents are advised to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines during these weather conditions.

In response to the weather advisory, residents are urged to be vigilant while driving or walking on the roads due to the potential hazards caused by high-speed winds carrying dust and dirt. The Department of Municipalities and Transport Al Dhafrah Region is specifically advising residents to secure their homes by closing doors and windows to prevent dust ingress and ensuring that motorists adhere to safety regulations. It is recommended to avoid direct exposure to dust and to monitor weather forecasts from official sources to stay informed of any changing conditions.

To mitigate the risks posed by weather fluctuations, safety procedures have been outlined for construction sites and workers. These include halting operations that involve heavy machinery, installing barriers and signs around work areas, removing volatile materials, and securing tower cranes against strong winds. By following these guidelines, workers can ensure their safety and prevent accidents during adverse weather conditions, such as high-speed winds and potential rainfall expected in the UAE.

As the UAE enters the summer season, temperatures are soaring above 40°C, leading to sweltering heat across the country. The sighting of the ‘Al Shurtan’ constellation marks the start of the hot season, prompting authorities to issue warnings about the extreme heat and potential weather changes. Residents are advised to take precautions to stay safe during the hot weather, including staying hydrated, wearing appropriate clothing, and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours. By staying informed and following safety guidelines, residents can navigate the challenges posed by the changing weather conditions in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
