Al Wakrah’s Moayad Hassan scored the team’s first goal, leading them to a victory over Umm Salal in the QSL Cup. This win marked their third consecutive win, maintaining their top spot in Group B with a total of nine points. Ayoub Assal sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time, securing the win for the Blue Wave. Umm Salal, the defending champions, remained in second place with six points in the standings.

In another match, Al Gharafa and Al Shamal played to a 1-1 draw, with Al Gharafa goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar Ndiaye making a crucial save in the 85th minute to deny Al Shamal a win. Fabricio Diaz scored for Al Gharafa from the penalty spot, equalizing the game after Suhaib Gannan had given Al Shamal the lead in the 38th minute. This result earned Al Shamal five points, placing them in third, while Al Gharafa earned one point, placing them fifth in the group standings.

In Group A, Al Duhail and Al Arabi are tied at the top of the table with nine points each, followed by Al Rayyan in third place with 7 points. Al Wakrah’s victory solidified their position as leaders in Group B, with Al Khor trailing behind on goal difference. Qatar SC and Al Shahania are at the bottom of the standings in Group A, with two and zero points respectively.

Overall, Al Wakrah’s strong performance in the QSL Cup has positioned them as a formidable team to beat in Group B. With their top spot secured and a perfect run of three straight victories, they are proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the competition. The contributions of players like Moayad Hassan and Ayoub Assal have been crucial in securing these wins and maintaining their lead in the group standings.

The draw between Al Gharafa and Al Shamal showcased a competitive match with both teams fighting hard to secure a win. Despite Al Shamal taking the lead in the first half, Al Gharafa’s determination and resilience allowed them to equalize through Fabricio Diaz’s penalty. The performance of goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar Ndiaye was instrumental in ensuring that Al Gharafa earned a point from the match, highlighting the importance of strong defensive skills in football.

Looking ahead, Al Wakrah will aim to continue their winning streak and maintain their position at the top of Group B. With talented players like Moayad Hassan and Ayoub Assal leading the team, they have the potential to go far in the QSL Cup. As for Al Gharafa and Al Shamal, they will need to regroup and strategize in order to climb up the group standings and secure their spots in the knockout stages of the competition. Group A remains closely contested, with Al Duhail and Al Arabi set to battle it out for the top spot as the competition progresses.
