Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Al Shaqab, becoming the official sponsor of the Al Shaqab League. The signing ceremony took place at Al Shaqab headquarters in Doha, Qatar, with representatives from both organizations in attendance. The agreement is expected to support the development of equestrian sports in Qatar and enhance opportunities for emerging talents.

The partnership was formalized by Jamal Abdullah Al-Jamal, Deputy CEO of QIIB, and Khalid Al Hitmi, Deputy CEO of Al Shaqab. According to Al-Jamal, the agreement reflects QIIB’s commitment to contributing to the community and supporting the growth of equestrian sports. Al-Hitmi highlighted the importance of national partnerships in promoting equestrianism, both locally and internationally.

Equestrian Sports Development

The Al Shaqab League provides a valuable platform for riders of all levels to compete and develop their skills. The league is conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), ensuring a high level of competition and organizational experience comparable to top equestrian events worldwide. Through this partnership, QIIB aims to support the growth of equestrian sports in Qatar and empower riders to achieve international success.

Participation in the league is open to members of Al Shaqab Equestrian Academy and riders from outside Al Shaqab. The competitions will be held at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab across four main rounds, with the first round scheduled for November 14-15. The event is expected to attract top riders and provide a showcase for Qatari equestrian talent.

Promoting National Partnerships

The partnership between QIIB and Al Shaqab reflects a shared commitment to promoting national partnerships and supporting the development of equestrian sports in Qatar. According to Al-Hitmi, the agreement demonstrates Al Shaqab’s vision to elevate equestrianism both locally and internationally. The bank’s support is expected to contribute to the growth of the sport and enhance Qatar’s reputation in the equestrian world.

The Al Shaqab League has been designed to provide a competitive and challenging environment for riders, with continuous training programs and organizational experience. The league is expected to play a key role in nurturing champions and promoting Qatari equestrian sports globally. As the partnership moves forward, it is expected that QIIB and Al Shaqab will work together to identify new opportunities for growth and development in the sport.

As the first round of the Al Shaqab League approaches, the equestrian community is eagerly anticipating the event. The competition is expected to be fierce, with top riders competing for top honors. The outcome of the league will be closely watched, and the results are likely to have implications for the future of equestrian sports in Qatar.
