Qatari riders Al Mansoori and Alabdulmalik stand out at the South African Jockey Academy

Mohammed Alabdulmalik and Abdulla Al Mansoori, two talented apprentices from the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), recently completed a successful stint at the prestigious South African Jockey Academy. Abdulla made his South African racing debut in May 2024 and secured a remarkable victory at Fairview Racecourse in Port Elizabeth. Throughout his stay, he had 27 rides and demonstrated his hard work and commitment by finishing placed in seven races. Mohammed, on the other hand, quickly made his mark with a thrilling victory at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, followed by wins at each of the four race meetings he participated in.

Mohammed’s talent shone through as he continued to secure wins in South Africa, including victories aboard Pashtunwali, Magic Prince, and Spirit of Levana. He competed in thirteen races, achieving four wins and four places in total. The South African Jockey Academy’s Riding Master, Rocky Agrella, commended both apprentices for their dedication, hard work, and impeccable manners during their time in South Africa.
