The National Sports Day Committee in Doha has recently announced the launch of the National Sports Day 2025 Award. This award aims to recognize agencies that promote a culture of sports among their employees. The announcement was made by Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, who is the advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth and also the Chairperson of the National Sports Day Committee. The award is open to both state and private agencies in Qatar and is part of the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s efforts to boost public health and sportsmanship in the Qatari society.

The National Sports Day Committee has emphasized the importance of encouraging agencies to provide a healthy and energetic work environment for their staff. The goal is to promote sports as a sustainable lifestyle and to inspire more people to participate in physical activities. Al Dosari highlighted the need for agencies to document their sports-related activities by uploading photos and videos on social media using specific hashtags and mentioning the National Sports Day account. Additionally, agencies are required to fill out an event form on the Ministry of Sports and Youth website, providing details about the events and the number of participants involved. It is also essential for participants to adhere to all security and safety measures, including having medical teams on standby.

The criteria for scoring points in the National Sports Day 2025 Award include the number of events organized by the agencies, the duration of the events, the number of participants, and the involvement of agency staff in the Sports for All calendar. This initiative aims to promote a culture of inclusivity and participation in sports, encouraging agencies to prioritize the well-being and physical fitness of their employees. Abdullah Al Dosari, who serves as the Director of Events and Activities at Qatar Sports For All (QSFA), highlighted the organization’s efforts in offering 750 free sports events throughout the year to individuals. He praised the public sports infrastructure in Qatar, which enables people from all backgrounds to engage in sports activities regardless of the weather conditions.

The National Sports Day 2025 Award serves as a platform for agencies to showcase their commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among their employees. By participating in the award, agencies have the opportunity to demonstrate their dedication to fostering a culture of sportsmanship and well-being within their organizations. The emphasis on documenting and sharing sports-related activities on social media reflects the importance of transparency and accountability in promoting physical activities. The criteria set by the National Sports Day Committee prioritize the quality and quantity of events organized by agencies, encouraging them to provide diverse and engaging activities for participants.

The collaboration between the National Sports Day Committee and QSFA highlights the concerted efforts of organizations in Qatar to promote sports and physical fitness in the community. The availability of free sports events throughout the year underscores the commitment of QSFA to making sports accessible to all individuals, regardless of their background or financial resources. The emphasis on inclusivity and diversity in sports activities aligns with Qatar’s vision of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for its citizens. The support provided by public sports infrastructure further enhances the opportunities for people to engage in sports and physical activities, contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life.

In conclusion, the National Sports Day 2025 Award represents a significant initiative to recognize and reward agencies that prioritize the promotion of a sports culture among their employees. By encouraging agencies to organize events and activities that promote physical fitness and well-being, the award aims to inspire more people to lead an active lifestyle. The collaboration between the National Sports Day Committee and QSFA underscores the importance of working together to create a supportive environment for sports and physical activities in Qatar. Through initiatives like the National Sports Day 2025 Award, Qatar continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting a culture of sportsmanship and inclusivity in the community.
