The World Aquatics High Diving World Cup 2024 in Bahrain concluded with a thrilling final that saw Constantin Popovici and Molly Carlson clinch the gold in their respective events. Popovici, a seasoned high diver from Romania, dominated the Men’s 27m competition with a score of 408 points, leaving his competitors in awe with his flawless technique and consistency. This victory marked his second gold after his impressive performance at the previous year’s World Cup. Popovici expressed his excitement for the win and credited the strong competition for pushing him to be his best.

In the women’s division, Canada’s Molly Carlson secured the gold with a score of 324.20 points, adding to her already decorated career that includes multiple podium finishes and medals. She faced tough competition from her compatriot Simone Leathead and USA’s Kaylea Arnett, who finished second and third, respectively. Carlson praised Bahrain for its support of high diving and expressed her desire to continue winning gold medals in the country. Both champions commended Bahrain’s hospitality and state-of-the-art facilities, highlighting the country’s growing role in elevating the sport’s global profile.

The atmosphere in Bahrain during the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup was described as magical by Carlson, who believes that events like these are crucial in promoting the sport and bringing it closer to being featured in the Olympics. The Kingdom of Bahrain is establishing itself as a key hub for high diving, attracting top athletes with its top-notch performances and vibrant atmosphere. The event showcased Bahrain’s growing prominence in the world of high diving and solidified its position on the global stage as a premier destination for high diving competitions.

Faris Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, congratulated the gold medallists and praised Bahrain for hosting a successful World Cup. The event was a testament to the country’s commitment to supporting high diving and providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talents. As Bahrain continues to make strides in the world of high diving, it is expected to attract more elite athletes and establish itself as a leading destination for high diving competitions. With the success of the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup 2024, Bahrain’s reputation as a top-notch host for international sporting events has been further solidified, paving the way for future high-profile competitions in the country.
