The Paris Olympics has brought together over 45,000 volunteers from 155 countries to help ensure the smooth running of the event. These volunteers play a crucial role in guiding tourists, snapping pictures, and creating a festive atmosphere in the city. While they are not paid for their work, volunteers like 19-year-old Axelle and 50-year-old Vinny Dhillon have dedicated time, money, and effort to be part of this unique experience. Despite the lack of financial compensation, volunteers find their experience priceless and fulfilling.

The volunteers, who wear iconic green uniforms, have become stars of the games, bringing a welcoming and positive vibe to visitors like Nicole from the Netherlands. While the organizers provide meals and transportation, volunteers have to find their own housing and cover other expenses. Despite this, volunteers like Vinny from Hong Kong and Leena from the UK are willing to invest in the opportunity to be a part of the Paris Olympics. The experience of being part of such a prestigious event and contributing to its success is something that many volunteers find rewarding and worth repeating.

For many volunteers, being part of the Paris Olympics is a dream come true. Watching competitions, seeing athletes in action, and interacting with visitors from around the world are experiences that they cherish. The volunteers Euronews spoke to expressed their desire to apply for the next Summer Games in Los Angeles in 2028. They see it as an opportunity to continue their volunteer work and be part of another prestigious event. Some, like Vinny Dhillon, even hope to bring their families along to volunteer together in the future.

Overall, the role of volunteers at the Paris Olympics is vital in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Despite the lack of monetary compensation, volunteers like Axelle, Vinny, and Leena find the experience fulfilling and rewarding. Their dedication and enthusiasm contribute to the success of the event and make them an essential part of the games. As they look towards the future, many volunteers hope to continue their volunteer work at future Olympics, highlighting the impact of their contributions and the value they place on being part of such a unique and memorable experience.
