The Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Vipul, recently inaugurated the “Hum Sath-Sath Hain – We Are Together” event, organized by Outreach Qatar (OQ) in celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day. Outreach Qatar, founded as a community initiative to support special-abled children and their parents, hosted the event with the aim of bringing the community together and highlighting the impact OQ has had on children over the past year. OQ General Secretary, Sameer Moosa, and President Avinash Gaikwad provided insights into the event’s intent and activities.

During his address at the event, Ambassador H E Vipul praised Outreach Qatar for their efforts in organizing the celebration on such a significant occasion as India’s Independence Day. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of keeping children united, educating them about their country’s values, and fostering the India-Qatar relationship. He stressed the need for including children with special needs in community activities and events, as well as teaching them about India’s history, culture, and pride. The Ambassador commended Outreach Qatar for their dedication to these principles.

The event featured remarkable performances by Outreach Qatar children, including the presentation of the Outreach Anthem “We Are Outreach Qatar,” composed by OQ General Secretary Sameer Moosa. P N Baburajan, Chairman of the OQ Advisory Board, highlighted the organization’s challenges in operating with limited resources and advocated for the establishment of a Community Centre for special-abled children in Qatar. The event also included the felicitation of Second Secretary Sarup Singhji for his support to the Indian community in Qatar.

The audience at the event was captivated by the extraordinary performances, speeches, and craftwork displayed by the OQ children, under the guidance of dedicated volunteers led by Lakshmi Chokalingam. Students who participated and volunteered in the event were recognized with certificates and mementoes for their contributions. One parent, Fairusha Jassim, shared her child’s positive experience with Outreach Qatar and the significant transformation observed in him. The event was a testament to Outreach Qatar’s success in making a difference in the lives of special-abled children and their families.

In conclusion, the “Hum Sath-Sath Hain – We Are Together” event organized by Outreach Qatar in celebration of India’s Independence Day was a resounding success, with Ambassador H E Vipul commending the organization for their efforts in bringing the community together and supporting special-abled children. The event showcased the talents and spirit of the OQ children, with outstanding performances and displays that left a lasting impression on the audience. The call for a Community Centre for special-abled children in Qatar highlighted the need for more initiatives like Outreach Qatar to support the well-being and development of children with special needs in the country. Overall, the event was a reflection of the positive impact Outreach Qatar has had on the lives of children and families in the community.
