OQ, the global integrated energy group, has recently launched its Strategic Fuel Storage Project in Musandam, with an investment exceeding OMR 78 million (approximately $204 million). The project was inaugurated under the auspices of Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, and in the presence of local dignitaries and officials. This initiative is part of OQ’s dedication to sustainable economic development and aims to address the increasing demand for petroleum products resulting from population growth and higher commercial activities. The storage facility is designed to serve as a strategic reserve for various fuels, including gasoline, oil gas, and jet fuel, ensuring a steady supply during emergencies. With a storage capacity exceeding 14,536 cubic meters, the project is expected to meet Musandam’s fuel needs effectively.

Al Busaidi emphasized the importance of the project, stating that the Strategic Fuel Storage Project will guarantee that Musandam’s fuel requirements are consistently met, even in emergency situations. He highlighted the significance of OQ’s contribution to the governorate, enhancing ongoing investments and supporting local communities. Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, also acknowledged the project as a crucial part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure the availability of petroleum products for residents and citizens of Musandam, particularly in times of crisis. Al Aufi noted the increasing local demand for petroleum products due to population growth and expanding commercial activities in the region.

He emphasized the group’s commitment to fulfilling its national responsibility by promoting energy sustainability and meeting the growing energy demands in Musandam. The project signifies OQ’s dedication to supporting the region’s development and enhancing its energy infrastructure to cater to the evolving needs of the governorate. The Group CEO highlighted the positive impact of the project on the local economy and the community, further solidifying OQ’s position as a key player in the energy sector.

The Strategic Fuel Storage Project in Musandam is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the stability of fuel supply in the region, particularly during emergencies. With a strategically located storage facility and a significant storage capacity, the project will help in meeting the fuel needs of nationals and residents, supporting economic activities and enhancing energy security in Musandam. The project aligns with OQ’s vision of advancing energy sustainability and promoting economic growth in the region by providing a reliable and efficient fuel storage solution. As Musandam continues to evolve and grow, the Strategic Fuel Storage Project will serve as a cornerstone for meeting the region’s energy requirements and supporting its development.

In conclusion, the launch of the Strategic Fuel Storage Project in Musandam represents a significant milestone for OQ Group and the region as a whole.
