The Business Bay Salik gate on Al Khail Road is set to open in November and is expected to be one of the busiest toll gates in Dubai. According to estimates, traffic at the Business Bay crossing will be comparable to other busy toll gates in the emirate, such as Al Barsha or Al Safa gates. The new toll gates of Business Bay and Al Safa South are scheduled to be operational by the end of November, increasing the total number of toll gates in Dubai to 10.

The Al Barsha and Al Safa toll gates are currently the busiest among the eight existing Salik gates in Dubai, contributing significantly to the total revenue-generating trips. Business Bay is a crucial artery for motorists from Sharjah, Al Nahda, and Al Qusais who use this bridge to access Al Khail Road, one of the busiest roads in the emirate. The fourth quarter is typically the busiest in terms of road trips, followed by the first quarter, and then the second and third quarters.

During an Investor Conference Call, a Salik spokesperson highlighted the importance of considering the overall year’s performance as each quarter compensates for the other. The Salik Board recently approved the valuation of the Business Bay and Al Safa South gates at Dh2.734 billion. The Business Bay Gate has been valued at Dh2.265 billion, while the Al Safa South Gate was valued at Dh469 million. It is anticipated that the two new gates will generate around 111 million revenue-generating trips in 2025.

In conclusion, the opening of the Business Bay Salik gate marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s transportation network. With the gate expected to handle a high volume of traffic and generate substantial revenue, it will play a crucial role in supporting the emirate’s continued growth and development. As the number of toll gates in Dubai increases, motorists can expect enhanced convenience and efficiency in their daily commute.
