Starting July 1, residents of Damac Hills 2 in Dubai will have a new public bus service available to them. The service, named DA2, will operate between Damac Hills 2 and Dubai Studio City, with departures every two hours. The buses will run from 5.47am to 9.32pm daily, and commuters will be charged a flat rate of Dh5 per trip. This initiative aims to provide relief to residents who currently have to drive to work, as well as those who rely on expensive taxi rides due to limited transportation options.

The RTA has put up bus stop signs within the community, detailing the new route and schedule. The first trip from Damac Hills 2 will start at 5.47am, and the last one will depart at 9.32pm. This service is expected to benefit residents like Linda Panganiban, a Filipino expat who often has to pay Dh90 to Dh100 for a cab ride to the city. With the new bus service, she anticipates significant savings and a more affordable mode of transportation.

Damac Hills 2 has become a popular option for residents looking to rent townhouses without the high costs. In 2021, the annual rent for a three-bedroom villa in the area dropped to as low as Dh40,000, attracting more residents to the neighbourhood. The addition of the new public bus service will further enhance the convenience and accessibility of Damac Hills 2, providing residents with a cost-effective transportation option to get to work and other destinations.

The introduction of the DA2 bus route is part of the RTA’s efforts to improve public transportation services in Dubai and make commuting more convenient for residents. The bus will connect Damac Hills 2 and Dubai Studio City, allowing passengers to access other modes of transport like the Metro. With bus departures every two hours, residents will have more flexibility in planning their daily commute and can avoid the hassle of driving or relying on expensive cab rides.

Residents who currently rely on the community’s free shuttle bus service or expensive taxi rides will benefit from the new public bus option. The flat rate of Dh5 per trip makes the bus service an affordable and cost-effective mode of transportation for daily commutes. The schedule and route of the DA2 bus have been designed to cater to the needs of residents, ensuring that they have a reliable and efficient transportation option available to them starting July 1.

Overall, the new public bus service in Damac Hills 2 is expected to bring significant relief to residents, especially those who have limited access to transportation options. With a flat rate of Dh5 per trip and regular bus departures between the community and Dubai Studio City, residents can enjoy a more affordable and convenient mode of commuting. The initiative is part of the RTA’s commitment to improving public transportation in Dubai and providing residents with better connectivity and accessibility to various destinations within the city.
