Sharjah has recently launched the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation, a new organization focused on protecting children, particularly those impacted by conflicts, natural disasters, and poverty. Named after the late son of Sharjah ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan Al Qasimi and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the foundation aims to carry on Khalid’s vision of creating a safer world for children. Sheikha Jawaher, during a live call on Sharjah Radio’s ‘Direct Line’ program, emphasized the importance of safeguarding children as they represent hope and the future of humanity.

The conflict in Gaza, where thousands of children have been killed or separated from their families, highlights the urgent need for organizations like the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation. The foundation plans to work with local and global entities to protect children’s rights in vulnerable communities worldwide. Initially focusing on regions in the global south, the organization will later expand its reach to include more areas in need. This phased approach ensures that the foundation’s resources are effectively allocated for a lasting impact on children’s lives.

Sheikha Jawaher emphasized the importance of community support and collective responsibility in the establishment of the foundation, noting that strong families lead to resilient and secure communities. The foundation will address policy gaps and support efforts to combat child exploitation and rights violations, working closely with NGOs to raise awareness and conduct research on children’s rights. She also highlighted the pressing humanitarian concerns surrounding children, especially in the face of conflicts, displacement, poverty, and lack of essential services.

The Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation aims to provide a brighter future for children by offering them the care, nurturing, and opportunities they deserve. By supporting policies that protect children’s rights and combat exploitation, the foundation hopes to contribute to the overall well-being and safety of children worldwide. Sheikha Jawaher’s commitment to ensuring a safer world for children reflects the foundation’s mission to create a more secure and stable environment for the next generation. Stay updated with the latest news from the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation as it continues its efforts to protect and support vulnerable children around the world.
