The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism announced the tourism packages of the Wilayat of Sur, the Capital of Arab Tourism 2024, at the Arabian Travel Market expo in Dubai. Dr. Walid Ali El Hennawy expressed hope that Sur would become a major destination for Arab and international tourism, with diverse marine and environmental features attracting visitors. Winning the title of “Arab Tourism Capital” typically results in a significant increase in tourist numbers, with some cities experiencing over a 50 percent rise.

Sajda Rashid Al Ghaithi, Director of the Tourism Marketing Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, revealed that the tourism packages were created in collaboration with the national travel operator “Visit Oman.” These packages were launched and made available on the “Visit Oman” promotional website. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between “Visit Oman” and Oman Airports with Emirates airlines to promote tourism packages for Oman in the airline’s global operations for the ATM event.

The tourism packages for the Wilayat of Sur aim to showcase the city’s unique attractions and experiences, from its marine and environmental features to its cultural heritage and warm hospitality. With a strategic focus on promoting Sur as a top travel destination, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is working closely with partners to create enticing packages that cater to a wide range of interests and preferences.

The collaboration between “Visit Oman,” Oman Airports, and Emirates airlines demonstrates a commitment to boosting tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. By leveraging the global reach and influence of Emirates airlines, these partnerships aim to attract more visitors to Oman and offer them curated experiences that highlight the country’s rich culture, history, and natural beauty.

As the Capital of Arab Tourism 2024, Sur is poised to become a premier destination for travelers seeking a unique and authentic Arabian experience. With its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and world-class attractions, Sur offers a diverse range of activities and experiences for visitors of all ages and interests. The tourism packages unveiled at the ATM expo are designed to showcase the best of what Sur has to offer and encourage travelers to explore this hidden gem in the Arabian Peninsula.
