The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Doha, Qatar recently concluded the activities and competitions organized by the social studies department for the academic year 2023/2024. The winners were honored by Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili and Director of the Educational Guidance Department Maryam Noman Al Emadi. They also recognized the schools that sponsored and hosted the events, along with their administrations, coordinators, and teachers.

Al Emadi emphasized the importance of education in shaping the success and future of a country’s people. She highlighted the collaborative efforts of state institutions to ensure quality education for all, creating an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. By producing capable and responsible citizens, individuals are better equipped to fulfill their obligations to their families, society, and country.

The role of extra-curricular activities in supporting students’ academic performance was underscored. Al Emadi noted that such activities enrich students’ knowledge and understanding, promoting self-learning by connecting education to real-life experiences. This approach aims to make learning more relevant, meaningful, and effective, ultimately enhancing students’ overall educational experience.

The Director of the Educational Guidance Department expressed pride in the students’ achievements and encouraged them to continue participating in local and international activities and competitions. Equipped with research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, students are well-prepared to represent Qatar in a positive light on the global stage. By building on their successes, students can continue to grow and excel academically.

The activities and competitions organized by the Ministry covered a range of topics including heritage and identity, scientific excellence, and electronic knowledge. These diverse areas of focus aim to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience, exposing them to various disciplines and encouraging a holistic approach to learning. By engaging in these activities, students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in different fields.

In conclusion, the Ministry’s efforts to promote education and provide students with opportunities for growth and development are commendable. By organizing activities and competitions that support students’ learning and encourage participation, the Ministry is helping to create a dynamic and engaging educational environment. Through these initiatives, students are empowered to excel academically, develop essential skills, and contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
