As the Paris 2024 Olympics approaches, Qatar is gearing up to send 14 athletes to compete in various sports at one of the world’s largest sporting events. With over 200 countries participating and around 10,500 athletes expected to compete in 329 events across 32 sports, the stage is set for an exciting competition that will showcase the talent and determination of athletes from around the world.

Leading Qatar’s contingent is Mutaz Barshim, the reigning Olympic champion in the high jump event. Barshim, who holds the second-highest jump in history at 2.43m, is set to make his fourth and final Olympic appearance in Paris. Alongside Barshim, athletes like Abdulrahman Samba, Bassem Hemeida, and Ismail Dawood will represent Qatar in hurdles events, showcasing their dedication and hard work in their respective disciplines.

In the track running events, athletes like Shahad Mohammed, Abubaker Abdullah, and Ammar Ismail will be looking to make their mark on the Olympic stage. Mohammed, the only female athlete on the team, is determined to achieve international success and win a gold medal in the 100-meter event. Meanwhile, Abdullah and Ismail have a track record of success in various competitions and will be aiming to continue their winning streak at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In the pole vault event, Saif Hemeida is set to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Bassem and secure new moments of glory for Qatar. Saif has already established himself as a top pole vaulter, winning multiple gold medals in various competitions and aiming to shine on the Olympic stage in Paris. In weightlifting, Fares Ibrahim Hassouna will be looking to defend his title as Qatar’s first-ever Olympic gold medallist after his historic win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Swimmer Abdulaziz Al Obaidly will be aiming to deliver his best performance yet in Paris, while beach volleyball duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan will be looking to build on their success from previous competitions and make a strong showing at the 2024 Olympics. In shooting events, Rashid Saleh Al Athba and Saeed Abu Shareb will be representing Qatar with their years of experience and passion for the sport.

As the athletes of Team Qatar prepare to make their mark on the world stage, they are supported by the Qatar Olympic Committee and fans from around the world. With the delegation set to arrive in Paris on July 19 and the opening ceremony just around the corner, the excitement is building for what promises to be an unforgettable Olympic Games. Let’s cheer on these 14 athletes as they aim to make history, bring glory to Qatar, and inspire a new generation of athletes with their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship.
