Doha, Qatar is undergoing a unique transformation as it prepares to host the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2025. Ten monumental Formula 1 helmet sculptures have been installed across the city, eight of which are the work of exciting contemporary Qatari artists, turning Doha into an open-air art installation. The sculptures will remain on display until November 30, 2025, offering fans a distinctive cultural experience alongside the high-speed action of the race.
The initiative, spearheaded by Lusail International Circuit (LIC), aims to celebrate Qatari identity, heritage, and innovation through the lens of motorsport. These 1.8-meter tall artworks are strategically located throughout Doha, inviting both residents and visitors to explore the intersection of art and racing. The project highlights Qatar’s growing prominence as a global sports and cultural destination.
A City-Wide Celebration of Formula 1 and Qatari Art
The helmet sculptures are more than just visually striking pieces; they represent a deliberate effort to integrate the excitement of Formula 1 with the rich cultural tapestry of Qatar. According to Fatima Al Qaedi, Marketing Manager at Lusail International Circuit, the exhibition is “an appreciation to Qatari creativity.” The artworks explore themes ranging from traditional Bedouin life to modern architectural achievements.
