Leadership can be a heavy cloak that not everyone is able to wear well. Kamlesh D. Patel, also known as Daaji, the fourth spiritual guide in the Sahaj Marg system of Raj Yoga meditation, believes that the best leaders are those who follow the path of ‘Heartfulness’. Daaji has inspired and nurtured young leaders globally in what he refers to as ‘Heartfulness leadership’.

The Heartfulness style of leadership focuses on embodying the values of the heart, such as kindness, empathy, and compassion. It is about making a positive impact in the lives of others and inspiring them to excel. Good leaders are able to communicate in a compassionate way and inspire confidence in their employees. Daaji’s own journey towards becoming a spiritual leader started at a young age when he began practicing Heartfulness Meditation. Today, he leads the Heartfulness movement globally, focusing on developing sensitized and level-headed individuals.

Heartfulness is a state of being where the heart is the centre of control, allowing individuals to see things objectively and past judgment. Through meditation, individuals can develop qualities that help them become better versions of themselves, such as more analytical, contemplative, and creative. The Heartfulness Institute, present in 170 countries, offers training in meditation to help individuals on their spiritual journey.

For those who cannot access one-on-one meditation training, there is an app called heartsapp that connects individuals with meditation trainers from around the world. Daaji recommends meditating 24×7 to build muscle memory and achieve an effortless meditative state. By forgiving and moving past biases and emotional burdens, individuals can see the bigger picture and become compassionate leaders.

Good leaders are those who are empathetic, kind, and able to recognize the abilities of their team members. By looking inwards and practicing meditation, individuals can develop the qualities needed to become effective leaders. Daaji emphasizes the importance of meditation in personal growth and leadership development, stating that there is no other way to become a good leader. The Heartfulness Meditation Center in Dubai offers sessions for those interested in learning more about Heartfulness and its benefits.
