Dubai Municipality has initiated the DM Food Elite program to recognize and honor food establishments in the Emirate that excel in food safety, nutrition, sustainability, social responsibility, and innovation. The aim of the program is to promote a sustainable food system in Dubai and uphold high international standards for safety and sustainability. The program is part of Dubai’s efforts to strengthen its position as a global trade hub and ensure excellent living standards for its residents.

Sultan Al Taher, the Director of the Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the importance of the program in creating a sustainable food system. The program will acknowledge food organizations and entities that have contributed significantly to the advancement of the food system in Dubai. By recognizing and honoring these establishments, Dubai aims to enhance its status as a global trade hub and support the objectives of the Dubai Food Security Strategy.

The selection process for the DM Food Elite program involves three distinct categories of food businesses: independent dine-in restaurants, hotel restaurants, and fast-food outlets and cafeterias. These establishments will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including their commitment to food safety culture, nutrition, health, sustainability initiatives, and innovation in business. The program also evaluates indicators such as environmental responsibility, social impact, governance practices, and technology and innovation in food supply.

Food establishments interested in participating in the program can submit their registration applications through the program’s online website. The registration is open until June 30, 2024, and can be accessed through the registration link provided on the program’s website. By encouraging food businesses to participate in the program, Dubai Municipality aims to promote a culture of excellence in food safety, sustainability, and innovation in the Emirate.

Overall, the DM Food Elite program is a significant initiative by Dubai Municipality to recognize and honor food establishments that adhere to high standards of food safety, nutrition, sustainability, and innovation. Through this program, Dubai aims to promote a sustainable food system, strengthen its position as a global trade hub, and ensure the well-being of its residents by upholding the highest international standards for safety and sustainability. Food establishments that meet the program’s criteria will be acknowledged for their contributions to the advancement of the food system in Dubai and for their commitment to excellence in food safety and sustainability.
