India’s cricketers Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin shined on the second day of the third test against New Zealand by taking a total of seven wickets. New Zealand was struggling at 171-9 in their second innings, with a lead of just 143 runs. Jadeja claimed 4-52 while Ashwin picked up 3-63 to put India in a strong position. Earlier in the day, India was bowled out for 263 in their first innings, with Shubman Gill top-scoring with 90 runs. Ajaz Patel took five wickets for New Zealand.

Gill and Rishabh Pant put on a crucial 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket to rescue India from a precarious position at 86-4. Washington Sundar played a handy knock of 38 not out off 36 balls to help India post a competitive total. Patel continued to impress at the Wankhede Stadium, taking his total wickets at the venue to 19 in just three innings. New Zealand got off to a shaky start in their second innings, losing early wickets.

Will Young and Daryl Mitchell provided some resistance for New Zealand with a 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Mitchell was dismissed for 21 by Ashwin, who took a brilliant running catch. Jadeja also chipped in with important wickets, including dismissing Tom Blundell for the second time in the match. Glenn Phillips hit three sixes before getting out for 26. Ish Sodhi and Matt Henry also fell to Jadeja and Ashwin respectively.

The win in the first two tests in Bengaluru and Pune gave New Zealand a historic test-series win in India. India will be looking to salvage some pride by performing well in the final test in Mumbai. The performances of Jadeja and Ashwin will be crucial for India’s chances of staging a comeback in the series. New Zealand, on the other hand, will be aiming to complete a clean sweep and continue their dominance over the Indian team.

The third test match between India and New Zealand has been closely contested, with both teams putting up strong performances. The upcoming days of the test match will be crucial in determining the eventual winner of the series. The strong batting performances by Gill and Pant for India, as well as the effective bowling by Jadeja and Ashwin, have kept India in the game. New Zealand, however, will be determined to maintain their winning streak and make history with a series whitewash.

The Wankhede Stadium has witnessed some exciting cricket action in the third test, with both bowlers and batsmen showcasing their skills. The pitch conditions have also posed a challenge for both teams, with spinners like Jadeja and Ashwin making the most of the conditions. The battle between the Indian spin duo and the New Zealand batsmen will be a key factor in determining the outcome of the match. Overall, the third test match has been a thrilling contest between two top cricketing nations.
