The Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai provided male and female inmates with financial and in-kind assistance totaling Dh4,626,940 during the first half of the year, showing their commitment to improving the quality of life for those in their care. These initiatives align with the values of tolerance and brotherhood deeply ingrained in Emirati society. Community philanthropists, institutions, and charitable organizations play a vital role in supporting these initiatives, with Brigadier Salah Juma Bu Osaiba expressing gratitude to all donors for their contributions to charitable programs within the penal and correctional institutions.

Colonel Abdullah Yaqoub Al Khedher, acting deputy director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, emphasized the significant role played by the Humanitarian Care Department in addressing the diverse issues faced by inmates of various nationalities. The department conducts field visits to charitable organizations to explore avenues for collaboration in resolving humanitarian challenges encountered by inmates, as stated by Captain Habib Hussein Mohammed Al Zarouni, head of the Humanitarian Care Department. Furthermore, the department extends its support to the families of inmates who are struggling due to the incarceration of their loved ones, aiming to preserve the unity within these families.

In addition to providing support to inmates and their families, the Humanitarian Care Department acts as a mediator in financial disputes among inmates and facilitates the deportation of those who are unable to cover their travel expenses. They also uphold the principles of inmate rights as established by Dubai Police, which are grounded in religious and humanitarian values. By fostering cooperation with charitable organizations and community partners, the department continues to enhance its efforts in resolving issues affecting inmates and their families, contributing to a more supportive and compassionate environment within the penal and correctional institutions.

The initiatives undertaken by the Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai reflect a commitment to supporting the well-being and rehabilitation of inmates, as well as promoting societal values of tolerance and compassion. The involvement of philanthropists, institutions, and charitable organizations is crucial in providing financial and in-kind assistance to inmates, showcasing the spirit of solidarity and generosity within the community. Through the dedication of the Humanitarian Care Department and its collaborative efforts with external partners, the department continues to address the various challenges faced by inmates and their families, contributing to their overall welfare and fostering a culture of support and understanding within the penal and correctional institutions.

Overall, the support provided to male and female inmates in Dubai highlights the importance of community engagement and collaboration in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in correctional facilities. By acknowledging the role of charitable organizations and community partners in assisting inmates and their families, the Punitive and Correctional Institutions demonstrate a commitment to upholding the principles of compassion and empathy in their operations. Through ongoing initiatives and partnerships, the institutions aim to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for inmates, promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into society upon their release.
