The Indian Community Relief Fund and the Indian Club recently joined forces to organize a Cardiac Awareness Camp in collaboration with the American Mission Hospital in Manama. The event, held on October 31, 2024, aimed to educate attendees about cardiac health and emergency response measures. With cardiac arrest being a leading cause of death globally, participants were given the opportunity to learn about the importance of CPR— a crucial life-saving technique in emergencies. Dr. Babu Ramachandran, along with AMH staff nurse Ms. Freeda Emilia and team member Mr. Prince, conducted hands-on demonstrations of cardiopulmonary resuscitation to equip attendees with the necessary skills to potentially save lives.

The event also featured Dr. P V Cherian, who shared his experiences and highlighted the critical role of CPR knowledge in emergency situations. With the prevalence of heart-related issues and cardiac emergencies on the rise, understanding how to perform CPR can make a significant difference in increasing survival rates. By providing attendees with practical training and valuable insights, the Cardiac Awareness Camp aimed to empower individuals to respond effectively in critical situations, potentially saving lives in the process.

The collaboration between the ICRF, Indian Club, and American Mission Hospital underscores the importance of community initiatives in promoting health awareness and preparedness. By bringing together healthcare professionals, volunteers, and members of the Indian community, the event served as a platform to raise awareness about cardiac health and equip individuals with life-saving skills. In a dynamic and interactive environment, participants were able to engage in hands-on CPR demonstrations, allowing them to practice and refine their techniques under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals.

The Cardiac Awareness Camp not only focused on teaching participants about CPR but also emphasized the significance of early detection and intervention in cardiac emergencies. By educating individuals about the warning signs of heart-related issues and the importance of seeking prompt medical attention, the event aimed to empower attendees to take proactive steps towards maintaining their cardiac health. Through informative sessions and practical demonstrations, participants were able to gain valuable knowledge and skills that could potentially help them address cardiac emergencies effectively.

The positive impact of the Cardiac Awareness Camp extended beyond the event itself, as attendees left with a greater awareness of cardiac health issues and the confidence to respond to emergencies. By fostering a sense of community engagement and solidarity, the collaboration between the ICRF, Indian Club, and American Mission Hospital exemplifies the importance of collective efforts in promoting health and well-being. Through initiatives like the Cardiac Awareness Camp, individuals are not only equipped with life-saving skills but also inspired to take proactive steps towards safeguarding their health and the health of those around them.

In conclusion, the Cardiac Awareness Camp organized by the ICRF, Indian Club, and American Mission Hospital in Manama served as a valuable platform for promoting cardiac health awareness and emergency preparedness within the Indian community. By emphasizing the importance of CPR training, early detection, and intervention in cardiac emergencies, the event empowered attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in critical situations. Through community-driven initiatives like this, individuals are encouraged to prioritize their health and well-being, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more resilient community.
