The latest polls show Vice President Kamala Harris leading former President Donald Trump nationally by just 0.9%, a margin well within the margin of error. However, the key state of Pennsylvania remains at a tie, making it uncertain who will come out on top. The polls have been fluctuating in favor of both candidates, with recent trends showing a swing back towards Harris. In both the 2020 and 2016 elections, the Democratic candidates won the national popular vote, highlighting the importance of swing states in determining the overall winner.

Despite Harris’ lead in the national polls, the outcome of the election could still be up in the air. The close margin between the two candidates nationally suggests that every vote counts. A shock poll out of Iowa showed Harris with a three-point lead, signaling the potential for late shifts among the electorate. The swing states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin will likely play a crucial role in determining the next President.

Pennsylvania, with its 19 critical electoral votes, has been a battleground state in previous elections and remains a key state to win. Polls show Harris and Trump in a virtual tie in Pennsylvania, with the outcome uncertain. The slow process of counting votes in Pennsylvania means that it may take days to determine the winner. Other swing states such as Michigan and Wisconsin slightly favor Harris, signaling her path to victory if she can secure these key states.

For Trump, winning states like Georgia, Arizona, and North Carolina will be crucial in securing a path to the presidency. Georgia and Arizona, in particular, have been closely contested in recent elections. Trump holds a slight advantage in these states, making them must-wins for him. Nevada, with its small population and few electoral votes, also remains important for both candidates in certain electoral scenarios.

The outcome of the election may come down to Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral college votes potentially deciding the winner. If the polling data is accurate, and the swing states align with the popular vote trends, then Pennsylvania will be the state to watch on election night. Factors like mail-in balloting and gender gaps in voter turnout could influence the final result in Pennsylvania. The state has been described as the one to rule them all, highlighting its significance in the overall election outcome.
