The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently experienced a surprising weather phenomenon as hail was seen in some parts of the country during the scorching summer temperatures. This occurrence is unusual as hail is typically associated with winter weather. Despite the extreme heat, temperatures in the UAE soared past the 50°C mark this week. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange alert for rain and dusty conditions in some Eastern areas, with convective clouds leading to rainfall and fresh winds causing dust and sand to blow with a speed of 40kmph. The orange alert was in effect from 4pm to 7pm on June 29.

The UAE’s weather-related social media account, storm_ae, shared a video showing hail in the eastern region, further highlighting the unusual weather conditions in the country. The weather department had previously issued red and yellow alerts for fog, warning of a deterioration in horizontal visibility due to fog formation. The forecast also predicted high temperatures of up to 47°C in the UAE with humidity expected to increase by night and Sunday morning, leading to a probability of mist formation over coastal areas.

It is important to stay updated with the latest news and weather alerts during such unpredictable weather conditions. Following platforms like KT on WhatsApp Channels can help individuals stay informed about any changes or alerts issued by the weather authorities. With the extreme temperatures and sudden weather changes, it is crucial to take necessary precautions and stay prepared for any potential hazards that may arise, such as heavy rains, hail, or dusty conditions.

The NCM’s alerts and warnings serve as a guideline for residents to be cautious and aware of the weather conditions in their respective areas. The orange alert for rain and dusty conditions indicates the possibility of convective clouds forming, leading to rainfall in some Eastern regions of the UAE. The presence of fresh winds can also contribute to the spread of dust and sand, affecting visibility and air quality in the affected areas.

Despite the unusual weather patterns, the UAE has seen hail and heavy rains during the summer before, showcasing the unpredictability of climate and weather in the region. By being vigilant and staying informed about weather forecasts, residents can better prepare for any adverse conditions that may arise. It is essential to follow guidelines and alerts issued by the NCM and other relevant authorities to ensure safety and minimize risks during extreme weather events. Whether it is hail, rain, or dusty conditions, staying informed and taking necessary precautions can help mitigate the impact of such weather phenomena.
