Nakheel, the master developer of Palm Jebel Ali, has announced the awarding of a contract for the construction of a 6km public access road leading directly from Sheikh Zayed Road to the highly anticipated development. In addition, a contract has also been awarded for roadway and lighting enhancements on Al Hesah Street at Dubai Waterfront, which connects to Palm Jebel Ali. The island, which is twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, is expected to house approximately 35,000 families in the future. Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has announced the appointment of DBB Contracting and Khansaheb Civil Engineering as partners for the next phase of development on the island.
Palm Jebel Ali is set to be the next big thing in Dubai’s real estate sector, spanning 13.4km of land with 10.5 million square meters of development. The island features 16 fronds, 110km of coastline, and 91km of beachfront, and will host over 80 hotels and resorts, as well as entertainment and leisure facilities. When Nakheel put up the first set of villas for sale in September last year, they were sold out within hours, with long queues of property brokers and investors. The island was the top-performing area in Dubai in terms of fourth-quarter sales in 2023, generating a total of Dh14.2 billion.
The announcement of the road contract signifies a major milestone in the development of Palm Jebel Ali, making it more accessible to residents and visitors. The island’s strategic location, size, and planned amenities make it an attractive investment opportunity for both property developers and buyers. With the appointment of key partners for the next phase of development, the project is expected to progress rapidly towards completion. The success of the initial villa sales indicates strong demand for properties on the island, highlighting its potential as a thriving residential and commercial hub in Dubai.
The development of Palm Jebel Ali is part of Dubai’s vision to create iconic landmarks and world-class destinations that attract residents and tourists alike. The island’s unique design and ambitious scale set it apart from other projects in the region, positioning it as a premier destination for luxury living and leisure activities. With its extensive coastline and beachfront, Palm Jebel Ali offers a luxurious lifestyle and a wide range of amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy. The island’s planned hotels, resorts, and entertainment facilities will cater to the diverse needs of guests, providing a vibrant and exciting environment for all.
As Dubai continues to emerge as a global hub for business, tourism, and real estate, projects like Palm Jebel Ali play a key role in shaping the city’s future growth and development. The island’s expansion and development will create employment opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and contribute to the overall prosperity of the emirate. With its strategic location and world-class infrastructure, Palm Jebel Ali is poised to become a premier destination for luxury living, leisure, and entertainment in Dubai. The successful sale of villas and the high demand for properties on the island indicate a strong market response to the project, reinforcing its status as a highly desirable and lucrative investment opportunity.
