Teachers’ Day is a special celebration in India and Indian curriculum schools in the UAE. This year, teachers at an Indian school received gold coins as part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations. The UAE is home to over 105 Indian curriculum schools, and many of these schools marked the day by having senior students take on the roles of teachers for the day. This gesture aimed to honor and appreciate the hard work and dedication of educators who play a crucial role in shaping the lives of their students.

School leaders paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned educator in whose honor Teachers’ Day is celebrated across the Indian subcontinent. The Indian High Group of Schools in the UAE organized a special celebration for teachers with dances, skits, games, and personalized gifts to show their gratitude. Teachers were welcomed with traditional attire and warm greetings, setting the tone for a day filled with appreciation and respect.

At Shining Star International School in Abu Dhabi, community partners like Burjeel Hospital and Malabar Gold celebrated Teachers’ Day by presenting awards, delicious cakes, and gift vouchers to teachers. The teachers were even treated to a raffle draw where they could win gold coins as prizes. This token of appreciation highlighted the important role teachers play in shaping the future of their students and the community.

Institutions like Springdales School in Dubai and Delhi Private School organized special assemblies and performances to honor their teachers. Senior students took over classrooms, allowing teachers to relax and enjoy the festivities. Personalized notes and mementos were presented to teachers to express heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and hard work. The day concluded with a sumptuous lunch hosted by the school, leaving teachers feeling valued and cherished.

Some schools combined their Teachers’ Day celebrations with the Malayali festival of Onam, marking the 10-day festivities from September 6 to 15. Amity School Dubai, for example, organized a gala celebration with an Onam Sadhya lunch. The event featured heartfelt messages from students, performances by staff, and a variety of delicious delicacies. The celebration served as a reminder of the impact teachers have on their students’ lives and the importance of showing appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

Overall, Teachers’ Day celebrations in Indian curriculum schools in the UAE were a heartfelt tribute to the educators who play a vital role in shaping the future generation. From gold coins and gift vouchers to personalized notes and special performances, teachers were shown love and appreciation for their dedication to their profession. These celebrations serve as a reminder of the profound impact teachers have on their students and the importance of recognizing and honoring their contributions.
