Dubai Police have seized around 3,800 e-scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes in the Naif Police Station’s jurisdiction for various violations, such as using them in non-designated areas or on public roads. The acting director of Naif Police Station, Brig Omar Musa Ashour, stated that since the beginning of the year, a total of 3,779 vehicles have been seized, including 2,286 bicycles, 771 e-bikes, and 722 scooters. Dubai Police are committed to improving road safety and ensuring a sense of security through intensified traffic enforcement to curb violations, catch reckless drivers, contribute to road security, and reduce fatal accidents.

Ashour emphasized the importance of following safety and security measures when riding scooters, electric, or regular bicycles. This includes riding in designated lanes, avoiding jogging or walking lanes, not carrying passengers on electric scooters or items that could affect balance, and not making significant modifications to the vehicle. Dubai Police have called on cyclists to strictly adhere to traffic rules and guidelines, stick to permitted roads and lanes, and comply with all security and safety requirements mentioned in designated areas for public safety.

In addition, Dubai Police urged the public to report negative behaviors or dangerous actions through the “Police Eye” service available on the Dubai Police smartphone app or by calling the “We Are All Police” service on 901. It is essential for the community to work together with law enforcement to ensure road safety and security for all residents and visitors in Dubai. By reporting violations and dangerous behaviors, the public can contribute to creating a safer environment for everyone on the roads.

It is crucial for all individuals using e-scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes to be aware of and adhere to the traffic rules and regulations in Dubai. Failure to comply with these guidelines not only puts the rider at risk but also endangers the safety of others on the road. By following the rules, riders can contribute to reducing accidents and creating a safer environment for everyone. Dubai Police’s efforts in enforcing traffic laws and seizing vehicles for violations demonstrate their commitment to ensuring road safety and security in the Emirate.

Overall, it is essential for all road users, including cyclists and riders of e-scooters, to follow the designated lanes, avoid prohibited areas, and adhere to safety measures. By working together with law enforcement and following the regulations in place, individuals can contribute to a safer and more secure environment for everyone on the roads in Dubai. Dubai Police’s proactive approach in seizing vehicles for violations and enforcing traffic laws highlights their dedication to improving road safety and reducing accidents in the Emirate. By reporting incidents and dangerous behavior, the public can play a crucial role in maintaining road security and ensuring a safer community for all.
