The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has completed the first phase of the “Professional Verification” service, which is part of the “Professional Certification” program. This service covers 128 countries and works in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through a unified electronic platform overseen by the ministry. The aim of this service is to ensure that expatriate workers entering the Kingdom possess genuine academic qualifications and the necessary practical experience and skills required by the Saudi labor market. This is in alignment with Cabinet Resolution No. 195 and focuses on high-skilled professions to verify the compatibility of academic qualifications with the educational level and field based on approved standards like the Unified Saudi Classification of Professions and Educational Levels.

The “Professional Verification” service is fully automated and follows simplified and fast procedures through a unified platform for professional verification. The ministry plans to cover 160 countries worldwide for all professions, including engineering and health, in coordination with relevant government agencies. The goal of this service is to prevent unqualified expatriate workers from entering the Saudi labor market and to improve the quality of qualifications and skills data for expatriate workers. By regulating the labor market and enhancing the quality of jobs and services, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development aims to increase productivity and overall efficiency in the labor market.

This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to regulate the labor market and ensure that only qualified individuals enter the workforce in Saudi Arabia. By verifying academic qualifications and practical experience, the ministry aims to raise the standard of professionalism in the country and promote a more skilled and competent workforce.
