The Ministry of Media, in collaboration with various partners, has launched a media business accelerator program to support entrepreneurs in the media sector. The program aims to provide resources, mentorship, and expertise exchange between Saudi Arabia and China. The initiative was announced during the Saudi-Chinese Media Entrepreneurs Forum, highlighting the importance of technological advancements in shaping the future of media industries.
Assistant Minister of Media Dr. Abdullah Al-Maghloth emphasized the significance of the partnership between Saudi Arabia and China in developing joint projects, exchanging talents, and transferring knowledge. The program, supported by eWTP Arabia Capital and other key partners, aims to foster innovation and growth in the media sector by providing startups with the necessary resources and enabling environment to expand their businesses.
Jerry Li, Managing Partner of eWTP Arabia Capital, emphasized the Chinese government’s strong support for bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia, especially in the technology and media sectors. The media accelerator program focuses on areas such as AI in media, digital content creation and distribution, media analytics, interactive media, and gaming, aiming to become a global leader in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the media industry.
The accelerator program runs for 3 to 4 months and includes 8 to 12 early-stage startups with high growth potential. The program includes mentoring, workshops, training courses, pitch days, and networking opportunities to connect startups with industry leaders, potential partners, and customers. The goal is to help startups achieve their full potential, contribute to the growth of media technology industries, and support the localization of the media industry in the Kingdom.
