The Ministry of Interior (MoI)’s Airport Security Department in Doha, Qatar recently conducted a workshop on preventive measures to address security risks in airports. The theme of the workshop was ‘Enhancing Joint Coordination in Addressing Security Risks’, and it focused on examining past security cases to identify weaknesses and implement innovative solutions. The event was attended by high-ranking officials such as Airport Security Department Director Staff Colonel Khamis Mohammed Al Muraikhi, as well as officers and representatives from various departments at Hamad International Airport.

During the workshop, Staff Colonel Al Muraikhi emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and fostering effective communication among all departments at HIA. The goal was to enhance the security system, ensure airport security, and prioritize passenger safety by staying up to date on the latest methods to combat potential security risks. He also highlighted the MoI’s commitment to promoting the idea that security is everyone’s responsibility and to supporting the efforts of relevant authorities in analyzing security risks and proposing recommendations that would enhance security stability and performance excellence.

The workshop aimed to promote a collaborative approach to addressing security risks at airports, encouraging all departments at Hamad International Airport to work together towards a common goal. By sharing experiences and fostering open communication, the workshop sought to strengthen the security system and ensure passenger safety. The event underscored the importance of staying proactive in the face of evolving security threats and emphasized the need for continuous improvement and innovation in security measures to effectively manage and mitigate potential risks.

The participation of officers and representatives from various departments at Hamad International Airport underscored the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to airport security. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds and areas of expertise, the workshop facilitated a holistic discussion on security risks and allowed for a more comprehensive analysis of potential vulnerabilities.
