The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Center (QICDRC) has launched a new initiative, the QICDRC Legal Clinic, which aims to provide free legal counseling to individuals who may not have access to justice due to financial constraints. This program is a significant expansion of the Center’s community service, with the goal of offering expert advice and assistance to those in need within the community. The Legal Clinic operates in partnership with Panel Law Firms, who have committed to providing legal assistance under the scheme’s terms and conditions.

Through the QICDRC Legal Clinic, individuals can benefit from a 30-minute consultation session with a Panel Law Firm, where they can receive expert advice on civil and commercial matters. This initiative serves as a bridge, connecting members of the public with the necessary legal expertise to address their concerns effectively. By providing this service, the Legal Clinic also helps to reduce the administrative burden on Courts by offering a way to resolve legal issues before they escalate.

The Chief Executive Officer of QICDRC, Faisal bin Rashid Al Sahouti, expressed his pleasure in announcing the launch of the Legal Clinic, stating that it provides an opportunity for lawyers to offer voluntary services to the community, particularly to those who are financially disadvantaged. The aim is to work towards ensuring that justice is accessible to all individuals, regardless of their financial situation. This initiative aligns with QICDRC’s commitment to upholding the principles of justice and equity, ensuring that all members of the community have access to legal assistance when needed.

Established by QFC Law No. 7 of 2005 (as amended), the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Center (QICDRC) was created as the final component of the State of Qatar’s initiative to establish a world-class international financial center. The Center was designed to have international standards in dispute resolution, serving as part of the strategy of the QFC to attract international business and financial services to Qatar. QICDRC provides a modern, specialized civil and commercial court that aims to hear cases quickly, economically, and in front of internationally renowned, independent judges.

The launch of the QICDRC Legal Clinic marks a milestone in the Center’s efforts to expand its community service and provide free legal counseling to those in need. By partnering with Panel Law Firms, the Clinic aims to connect individuals with expert legal advice to help address civil and commercial matters. This initiative not only benefits the community by ensuring access to justice for all individuals, but also contributes to reducing the administrative burden on Courts by offering a way to resolve legal issues before they escalate.

In conclusion, the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Center’s initiative to provide free legal counseling through the QICDRC Legal Clinic is a significant step towards ensuring that justice is accessible to all members of the community, regardless of their financial situation. This program demonstrates the Center’s commitment to upholding the principles of justice and equity, while also supporting the QFC’s strategy to attract international business and financial services to Qatar. Through the Legal Clinic, individuals can benefit from expert advice and assistance on civil and commercial matters, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and effective resolution of legal issues.
