Qatar’s participation in Web Summit Lisbon 2024 from November 11 to 14 is part of the country’s preparations for Web Summit Qatar 2025 next February. This engagement follows Qatar’s successful hosting of the global event’s first-ever edition in the Middle East earlier this year, showcasing the nation’s commitment to economic diversification and attracting foreign investments. The delegation will be led by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office, and will include representatives from key government and semi-government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Qatar Tourism.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani expressed excitement about joining the global technology community at Web Summit Lisbon, highlighting the opportunity to forge new connections, share insights, and explore collaborative ventures. The delegation aims to establish Qatar as a leading global hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship by forging strategic partnerships, attracting investments, and fostering entrepreneurship. The participation aligns with the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030, contributing to Qatar’s digital transformation and economic development.

At Web Summit Lisbon 2024, a press conference will announce the finalists of the Startup Qatar Investment Program, which includes pioneering projects in artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and machine learning. A Qatar Pavilion will also be set up to showcase the nation’s dynamic business and investment landscape, featuring leading institutions such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Qatar Development Bank, and Qatar Financial Centre. Last year’s pavilion at Web Summit Lisbon drew international interest and positive feedback, reflecting the success of Web Summit Qatar hosted earlier this year.

Qatar’s presence at Web Summit Lisbon 2024 reinforces the country’s vision to foster a dynamic ecosystem for technological innovation, providing opportunities for domestic and international entrepreneurs to leverage Qatar’s varied opportunities. The strategic participation exemplifies Qatar’s bold vision to build a dynamic ecosystem for technological innovation, empowering entrepreneurs to capitalize on Qatar’s unique opportunities and drive the nation’s digital economy. By nurturing homegrown talent and reinforcing its position in the global tech landscape, Qatar aims to solidify its role as an influential player in the industry.

In conclusion, Qatar’s participation in Web Summit Lisbon 2024 underscores the country’s commitment to establishing itself as a leading global hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship. The delegation’s presence at the event reflects Qatar’s determination to attract investments, forge partnerships, and accelerate its digital transformation, in line with national development strategies and long-term visions. By leveraging platforms such as Web Summit, Qatar aims to showcase its economic potential, technological advancements, and investment opportunities on the international stage, positioning itself as a key player in the global tech landscape.
