The State of Qatar achieved a significant victory at the 92nd General Assembly of INTERPOL in Glasgow, United Kingdom, by securing a seat on the Executive Committee of the organization. This achievement adds to the country’s impressive record of security accomplishments in both Asia and the world. The Qatar delegation, led by Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs HE Sheikh Nayef bin Faleh bin Saud Al-Thani, participated in the assembly to support their candidate. Lieutenant Colonel Ali Mohammed Al Ali was also elected as a representative of the Asian seat, highlighting the strong competition among candidates from seven Asian countries for this important position.

HE Sheikh Nayef bin Faleh bin Saud Al-Thani expressed that Qatar’s success in winning a seat on the Executive Committee is a reflection of the country’s commitment to regional and international peace and stability. This achievement also underscores Qatar’s efforts to strengthen its position in major international organizations, particularly in the areas of international security and police cooperation. The victory highlights the international community’s confidence in Qatar and its leadership role in establishing effective security standards that address contemporary challenges.

The Executive Committee of INTERPOL serves as the governing body responsible for overseeing the implementation of decisions made by the General Assembly and directing the work of the General Secretariat of INTERPOL. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s effective management and meets three times a year to discuss policies and trends that enhance security and international cooperation among member states. Qatar’s participation on the Executive Committee will allow the country to contribute to shaping and implementing strategies that promote global security and cooperation in the fight against crime.

Qatar’s presence on the Executive Committee of INTERPOL highlights the country’s commitment to international security and cooperation. With its strong track record of security achievements, Qatar is well-positioned to make significant contributions to the organization’s efforts to combat transnational crime and enhance global security. As a member of the committee, Qatar will have the opportunity to collaborate with other member states to develop and implement effective strategies that address emerging security threats and promote peace and stability on a global scale.

The competition for seats on the Executive Committee of INTERPOL underscores the importance of these positions in shaping the direction of the organization and setting policies that drive international cooperation on security issues. Qatar’s success in securing a seat reflects its dedication to advancing global security and its leadership in promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. By actively participating in the Executive Committee’s meetings and discussions, Qatar will have a platform to advocate for policies and initiatives that enhance security cooperation among member states and address evolving security challenges effectively.

In conclusion, Qatar’s victory in winning a seat on the Executive Committee of INTERPOL is a testament to the country’s commitment to international security and cooperation. With its strong track record of security achievements and leadership in promoting peace and stability, Qatar is well-equipped to contribute to the organization’s efforts in combating crime and enhancing global security.
