Msheireb, a sustainable urban regeneration project in Doha, Qatar, has partnered with Metahug, a gaming studio, to launch an immersive Roblox experience that allows players to explore Qatari culture. This collaboration aims to blend education and interactive gaming, showcasing sustainable innovations, creative talents, and traditions of Qatar. The partnership was announced at the TEFFA event in M7 at Msheireb Downtown Doha.
The Roblox platform will feature mini-games that highlight different aspects of Qatari life and history. The first game, ‘Pearl Hunt’, pays homage to Qatar’s pearl diving heritage. Msheireb Properties’ commitment to sustainability and design was key in bringing this project to life by combining the sustainable downtown regeneration with the creativity of the Doha Design District.
Activities in the Roblox experience will be inspired by Msheireb Properties’ vision for human-led design, such as designing sustainable fashion inspired by traditional Qatari attire and creating furniture reflecting the region’s architectural elegance. Players will also learn about Arabic typography and the history of Bedouin lifestyles, celebrating Qatar’s dedication to sustainability and design.
This partnership showcases Msheireb’s dedication to cultural preservation and aligns with Metahug’s mission of educating through engagement. The goal is to create an enriching experience that teaches players about Qatar’s significant cultural heritage.
