The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has recently taken significant steps to support Qatari pilgrims traveling to the Hajj in 2024. A decision was made to form the Qatari Hajj Mission, with Minister H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim leading the mission. The mission also includes Ali Sultan Al Musaifri as vice-president, as well as members from various ministries and institutions in Qatar. Supporting units have been named to serve pilgrims from Qatar, including Sharia and religious guidance, medical services, monitoring and inspection, public relations, secretarial, information systems, coordination, follow-up and airport, financial, communication and support, pilgrimage services, and logistics units.

To ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of the pilgrims, the mission is accompanied by a media team representing Qatar’s media institutions, such as Qatar TV, Al Rayyan TV, and Qatar Radio. The formation of these units aims to provide distinguished services for Qatari pilgrims, support Qatari campaigns, and address the daily requirements of the pilgrims during the Hajj. The mission will also work closely with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia to coordinate efforts and ensure the security and safety of the pilgrims. The units have already begun their work with the first official delegation leaving on May 19, 2024.

The initial delegation was responsible for preparing and equipping the pilgrims’ camps in the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, in addition to finalizing contracts related to healthcare, accommodations, and nutrition. All preparations are being made to create a suitable environment for the Qatari pilgrims, in accordance with the requirements set by Saudi authorities. The mission seeks to fulfill its responsibilities diligently and efficiently, providing a seamless experience for the pilgrims as they undertake this important journey of faith.

The formation of the Qatari Hajj Mission shows the commitment of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar to ensuring the well-being of its citizens during the Hajj season. By appointing qualified individuals and forming specialized units, the mission aims to provide comprehensive support to the pilgrims and address their needs effectively. The collaboration with Saudi authorities and media institutions further enhances the mission’s ability to deliver high-quality services and maintain open communication channels throughout the Hajj.

This initiative highlights the importance of proper planning and coordination in organizing large-scale events such as the Hajj, where the well-being and safety of pilgrims are of utmost importance. The formation of specific units for various aspects of the pilgrimage demonstrates a thorough approach to addressing the diverse needs of the pilgrims and ensuring that all aspects of the journey are carefully managed. With the support of the media team, the mission can also enhance its outreach and communication efforts, keeping the public informed and engaged throughout the Hajj season.

In conclusion, the Qatari Hajj Mission for the 2024 season reflects the dedication of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar to serving its citizens and facilitating their religious obligations. The formation of specialized units, the appointment of qualified individuals, and the collaboration with relevant authorities and media institutions signal a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to supporting Qatari pilgrims during the Hajj. By prioritizing the comfort, safety, and well-being of the pilgrims, the mission aims to provide a seamless and fulfilling experience for all participants, ensuring a successful and memorable Hajj journey for the Qatari pilgrims.
