The Qatar-Saudi Coordination Council’s Committee of Culture, Tourism and Entertainment held its first meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani from Qatar and HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud from Saudi Arabia. They discussed the ongoing work between the two countries, the achievements of the committee, and the importance of completing the approved initiatives. During the meeting, HE the Minister of Culture toured the Riyadh International Book Fair with his Saudi counterpart. They visited the State of Qatar’s pavilion, where Qatar was the guest of honor. The ministers explored the books, contents, and rare manuscripts in the Qatari pavilion, as well as the participating publishing houses and their displayed books in various fields. The participation of Qatar as the guest of honor at the fair highlights the cultural relations between the two countries, with HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani appreciating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting Gulf and Arab culture.
