Culture Minister inaugurates Qatari Cultural Week in Tajikistan

The Qatari Cultural Week in Tajikistan was inaugurated by Minister of Culture He Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani in a ceremony at the Ayni Opera and Ballet Theater in Dushanbe. The event was attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyen, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tajikistan Mubarak bin Abdulrahman Al Nasr, ministers of the Republic of Tajikistan, ambassadors, intellectuals, artists, and the public. This event aims to highlight Qatari heritage and culture and enhance cultural exchange between the two nations.

Director of Public Relations & Communications Department at the Ministry of Culture Ahmed Ali Al Yafei stated that the Qatari cultural week in Tajikistan is part of efforts to strengthen cultural ties and establish deeper connections between Qatar and Tajikistan. The activities planned for the event aim to promote cultural exchange and showcase the close relationship between the two countries. The event will feature various aspects of Qatari heritage including gypsum carving, Qatari Bisht, embroidery, Sadu weaving, henna, traditional clothing, popular dishes, Qatari publications on heritage, poetry, traditional dance (Ardha), and musical performances.

The cultural week is a platform for both countries to learn about each other’s traditions, customs, and way of life. It is an opportunity for the people of Tajikistan to experience the richness of Qatari culture and vice versa. The exchange of cultural practices and traditions will help foster a better understanding and appreciation of each other’s heritage.
