Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, emphasized the country’s foreign policy based on a vision of dialogue and tolerance at the UN 79th General Assembly in New York. The Sultanate of Oman aims to achieve peace through mutual respect, positive cooperation, and harmony among nations. Sayyid Badr expressed gratitude to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for his efforts to uphold international law, justice, and peace globally.

The Sultanate of Oman fully supports the UN’s initiatives to promote international peace and security, advocating for peaceful resolutions to disputes and conflicts. Sayyid Badr called for an immediate ceasefire in areas like the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, urging an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. Oman supports a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state, along the 1967 borders.

Oman emphasizes rational dialogue, adherence to international law, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity to ensure security, peace, and dignity for all nations and peoples. The Sultanate is dedicated to social protection programs that support vulnerable groups including women, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Oman’s commitment to sustainable development is evidenced by ongoing efforts to provide education, health, and social care to all segments of society.

Oman is committed to empowering youth and promoting peaceful coexistence among peoples while combatting discrimination, racism, hatred, and violence. The country is actively addressing climate change challenges, reducing emissions, and investing in renewable energy projects. Oman’s development programs align with the national vision, Oman Vision 2040, to achieve economic and social development objectives and confront future challenges.

The Sultanate of Oman’s submission of the second voluntary national report underscores its dedication to sustainable development goals and highlights progress in various development areas. Oman welcomes the adoption of the Future Summit Charter in 2024, which sets a roadmap for enhancing international cooperation and confronting global challenges. The Sultanate encourages member states to commit to implementing the charter and working towards a better, safer, and more prosperous future for future generations through cooperation and knowledge exchange.

In conclusion, Oman’s foreign policy prioritizes dialogue and tolerance, seeking peace through cooperation and respect among nations. The country supports peaceful resolutions to conflicts, advocates for social protection programs, and promotes sustainable development efforts in line with global goals. Oman’s commitment to international cooperation and the promotion of a better future demonstrates its dedication to peace, stability, and prosperity in the global community.
