The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the Arab Forum for Environment, held in Riyadh under the theme “Restore Land to Build Resilience.” The delegation from Oman is led by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority. The event, organized by the Secretariat General of the Arab League and the UN Environment Programme’s West Asia Office, aims to discuss topics such as land degradation, food and water security, environmental commitment, and initiatives to rehabilitate terrestrial ecosystems.

The Arab Forum for Environment serves as a platform for exchanging experiences, identifying cooperation opportunities, and establishing regional dialogue among stakeholders to discuss current environmental challenges and future prospects in the Arab region. It provides an opportunity for policymakers, international and regional experts, and key actors in the environmental field to come together for discussions and potential cooperation. The forum strives to promote partnerships and collaboration in order to address environmental issues in the Arab region effectively.

The main goal of the Arab Forum for Environment is to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and exchange knowledge on important environmental topics. By focusing on key themes such as land degradation, food and water security, and ecosystem preservation, the forum aims to create a platform for dialogue and cooperation that can lead to positive outcomes in the region. Through this event, participants can learn from each other, establish partnerships, and work towards sustainable solutions for environmental challenges.

One of the key themes of the Arab Forum for Environment is the importance of environmental commitment in preserving terrestrial ecosystems. By discussing the significance of protecting the land and enhancing food and water security, participants can better understand the challenges facing the region and work together to find solutions. This focus on environmental preservation underscores the need for sustainable practices and policies to ensure the long-term health of the environment.

The forum also aims to highlight international, regional, and national initiatives that are focused on rehabilitating terrestrial ecosystems. By showcasing successful projects and initiatives from around the world, participants can learn from each other and potentially replicate successful strategies in their own countries. This emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing is crucial for addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development in the Arab region.

Overall, the Arab Forum for Environment in Riyadh is a valuable platform for stakeholders to come together, share their expertise, and work towards common goals in environmental conservation. By promoting dialogue and cooperation among policymakers, experts, and key actors, this event plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable practices and policies in the region. Through discussions on land degradation, food and water security, environmental commitment, and ecosystem restoration, participants can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future for the Arab region.
