The Oman Flour Mills Company has recently announced the purchase of 10,000 tonnes of wheat crop from Omani farmers, marking a significant increase of up to 100 percent compared to the previous year. Haitham bin Mohammed al-Fannah, the CEO of the Oman Flour Mills Company, emphasized that the company has been supporting farmers on an annual basis through its purchase programme, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries, and Water Resources. The goal is to promote the expansion of wheat cultivation in Oman and enhance the development of Omani wheat products. This year, the number of farmers supplying Omani wheat is expected to exceed 95, compared to just 65 farmers in the previous year, representing a 45 percent increase.
