The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) Bahrain Chapter, along with the Bahrain Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), recently organized an awareness session titled “CONNECTING PEOPLE” on November 2, 2024, at the KIMS Health Hospital Auditorium in Umal Hassam. This event, the sixth session in the CONNECTING PEOPLE series, aimed to raise awareness about trafficking in persons, labor rights, and the health and wellbeing of expatriates living in Bahrain. The session, which began at 7:00 p.m., saw participation from a diverse expatriate community and provided valuable insights into Bahrain’s labor regulations, expatriate rights, and available resources for expatriates.

The session was a crucial initiative to educate expatriates about their rights and the resources available to them in Bahrain. Trafficking in persons is a serious issue, and it is essential for expatriates to be aware of their rights and protections under Bahrain’s labor laws. By collaborating with the LMRA and IOM, the PLC Bahrain Chapter was able to provide valuable information to the expatriate community and empower them to protect themselves from exploitation.
