The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) in Bahrain has recently issued more than 10,000 golden residency visas to beneficiaries from 99 countries. These visas have been awarded to elite real estate owners, talented individuals such as artists and athletes, as well as long-serving employees and their families who have met the necessary conditions and standards. This announcement was made during the Gulf Gateway Forum 2024, which was held in Bahrain for its second edition. The event featured participation from senior government officials, business leaders, and executives and was held under the theme “Investing in a Prosperous Region.”

The initiative to issue golden residency visas aligns with the directives of the Bahraini government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The main goals of this initiative are to develop residency systems within the Kingdom, enhance growth in the economic, investment, and service sectors, and attract skilled individuals to contribute to the country’s development. The oversight of this initiative falls under the responsibility of His Excellency Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who is working towards a more prosperous and diverse community in Bahrain.

The golden residency visas are a means of encouraging investment, talent, and long-term commitment to Bahrain, as they provide a pathway to permanent residency for eligible individuals. By attracting skilled individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities, the Kingdom aims to boost its economic and social development, as well as strengthen its position as an attractive destination for foreign investment. The issuance of these visas is part of a wider strategy to promote growth and innovation within the country and create a thriving environment for business and entrepreneurship.

The Gulf Gateway Forum 2024 served as a platform for discussing investment opportunities, economic growth, and regional partnerships. The participation of senior government officials, business leaders, and executives highlights the importance of collaboration and cooperation in driving sustainable development in the region. By hosting such forums and initiatives, Bahrain aims to position itself as a hub for business and investment, offering a conducive environment for growth and innovation. The issuance of golden residency visas further reinforces the government’s commitment to attracting talent and investment to the Kingdom, paving the way for a more diverse and prosperous society.

Overall, the issuance of more than 10,000 golden residency visas in Bahrain reflects the government’s proactive approach to promoting economic growth, attracting talent, and enhancing the country’s global competitiveness. By recognizing the contributions of elite real estate owners, talented individuals, and long-serving employees, Bahrain is laying the groundwork for a more diverse and dynamic society. The Gulf Gateway Forum 2024 served as a platform for showcasing Bahrain’s commitment to investment, innovation, and partnership, setting the stage for continued growth and development in the region. As Bahrain continues to evolve as a global business destination, the issuance of golden residency visas plays a crucial role in shaping the country’s future and attracting top talent from around the world.
