The recent event organized by Tamkeen, the Labour Fund of Bahrain, was attended by His Excellency Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro, to explore Bahrain’s efforts in training local talent for the labor market. The event showcased Bahrain’s success in preparing a competitive national workforce, particularly in the technology sector, through specialized training programs supported by Tamkeen in partnership with organizations like General Assembly and Amazon Web Services.

Key officials such as His Excellency Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, and other dignitaries were also present at the event. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tamkeen and Montenegro’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation to enhance private sector productivity through technology and innovation, showcasing the commitment to national development and strategic partnerships for sustainable prosperity.

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, highlighted the positive impact of these strategic partnerships in equipping national talent with in-demand skills for the labor market. She emphasized that the training programs have led to promising job opportunities for graduates within nine months of completion and have encouraged individuals to start their tech enterprises, contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Tamkeen’s programs have trained over 6,000 Bahrainis in the private sector in Information Technology within the last three years, with plans to double this figure in the future. The event aligns with Tamkeen’s 2024 strategic priorities of increasing economic participation through employment opportunities, expanding career development for the Bahraini workforce, and supporting enterprises for sustainable economic development.

Overall, the event highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to developing a skilled national workforce and fostering innovation in the technology sector through strategic partnerships and training programs. The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Tamkeen and Montenegro’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation showcases a shared commitment to enhancing private sector productivity and skills-building initiatives for sustainable economic growth in both countries.
