Moderate voter turnout reported for Muharraq by-election voter list display

The electoral center in Busaiteen remained calm as voters checked the voter list for the upcoming Muharraq by-election. This process follows a recent court decision to annul the membership of former MP Mohammed Al Hussaini. Dr. Ali Al Shuwaikh, the Head of the Supervisory Committee, stated that today is the last day for voters to verify their data, emphasizing that only those on the list will be eligible to vote.

Voters can request additions, changes, or corrections to the list through the Supervisory Committee. The integrity of the electoral system is maintained through this verification process, ensuring that eligible residents can participate in the by-election. Potential candidates Dr. Essam Al-Alawi and Saleh Al-Sada visited the center, with Dr. Al-Alawi expressing confidence in his electoral prospects and predicting victory in the first round.

With the upcoming by-election following the court decision to annul Mohammed Al Hussaini’s membership, the voter list display is a crucial step in the electoral process. This verification ensures that only eligible voters can participate in the by-election, maintaining the integrity of the electoral system. Dr. Al Shuwaikh noted that voters can check their registration status online or in person at the electoral center in Al Busaiteen Intermediate Girls School.

Potential candidates Dr. Essam Al-Alawi and Saleh Al-Sada visited the center and expressed their confidence in the upcoming by-election. Dr. Al-Alawi, who reached the second round in the 2022 elections, believes that his chances have improved this time. He is optimistic about a decisive victory in the first round and remains committed to participating in the electoral process. The presence of candidates at the electoral center highlights the importance of the upcoming by-election for the constituents of Muharraq.

As the voter list display process nears its end, voters are urged to verify their data to ensure their eligibility to vote in the upcoming by-election. The Supervisory Committee is available to address any issues related to missing names or incorrect information on the list.
