His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, recently met with the Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and officials from various agencies that contributed to Bahrain’s 18th place ranking in the UN E-Government Development Index. The meeting took place at Gudaibiya Palace, where HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad praised Team Bahrain’s efforts in advancing the Kingdom’s achievements in all sectors, aligning with the vision of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Crown Prince highlighted the importance of advancing the telecommunications and information technology sector as a key driver of digital transformation across government services.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad expressed pride in Bahrain’s high ranking in the development index, acknowledging it as a testament to the progress made in government services. He stressed the need to enhance capabilities, quality, and integration of services using modern technology to ensure sustainability. The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of developing programs and initiatives to support digital transformation and address current and future needs. The Minister of Interior, Chairman of the MCICT, and officials expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with HRH the Crown Prince and their commitment to advancing Bahrain’s development in line with the vision of HM the King and directives of HRH the Crown Prince.

Bahrain’s ranking of 18th place in the UN E-Government Survey 2024 represents a significant improvement of 36 positions, positioning the Kingdom among global leaders in e-government services. The 2024 report highlights Bahrain’s progress in all main and sub-indicators, ranking first globally in technology adoption index within digital services. The Kingdom has made notable advancements across all sub-indicators of digital readiness, reflecting its commitment to digital transformation. The meeting at Gudaibiya Palace was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), along with senior officials.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievement in the UN E-Government Development Index is a testament to its commitment to advancing government services through digital transformation. Bahrain’s 18th place ranking globally reflects the progress made in enhancing capabilities, quality, and integration of services using modern technology. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad’s emphasis on the importance of sustaining efforts to support digital transformation and address current and future needs underscores Bahrain’s commitment to progress and prosperity for its citizens. The meeting at Gudaibiya Palace served as a platform for officials to express gratitude for HRH’s support and reaffirm their dedication to advancing Bahrain’s development in alignment with the vision of HM the King and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince.

Bahrain’s advancement in the UN E-Government Survey 2024 showcases the Kingdom’s leadership in digital services and technology adoption. The significant progress made in digital readiness and technology adoption reflects Bahrain’s commitment to staying at the forefront of digital transformation. The participation of senior officials, including His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, further highlights the collective effort towards advancing Bahrain’s development and ensuring progress and prosperity for all. The Kingdom’s recognition as a global leader in e-government services positions it as a model for other nations to emulate in leveraging technology for efficient and effective governance. With continued focus on digital transformation, Bahrain is poised to further enhance its standing as a regional and global leader in the digital landscape.
