The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in Bahrain is taking steps to recover outstanding electricity bills by engaging legal firms to assist in the collection of arrears from subscribers. This initiative is part of the authority’s efforts to streamline revenue collection processes and ensure its financial stability. Interested law firms are invited to participate in the tender process to secure the contract for providing legal services.

Legal experts will be able to employ various methods to recover unpaid electricity and water bills, as well as municipal fees owed by consumers. This includes the option of litigation if necessary to recoup the owed amounts. By leveraging the expertise of legal professionals, the EWA aims to optimize the collection process and expedite the recovery of outstanding dues.

Interested law firms have the opportunity to bid for a four-year contract to provide legal services for the collection of arrears related to electricity and water bills, as well as municipal fees. The bidding process requires a BD2500 bond with 180 days’ validity, and alternate bids are not allowed. Bidders are advised to submit their bids before the closing date of the 22nd of the month to be considered for the contract.

Successful firms will be selected to assist in the recovery of unpaid electricity and water bills on behalf of the Electricity and Water Authority. This collaboration aims to enhance the authority’s revenue collection processes and ensure that outstanding dues are promptly recovered from consumers with overdue bills. Legal action may be taken if necessary to recover the owed amounts and ensure compliance with payment obligations.

The EWA’s decision to engage legal firms for the collection of arrears from subscribers reflects the authority’s commitment to financial stability and efficient revenue collection processes. By involving legal experts in the recovery process, the EWA aims to optimize the collection process and expedite the recovery of outstanding dues. Interested law firms are encouraged to participate in the bidding process and submit their bids before the specified closing date to be considered for the contract.

Overall, the initiative to engage legal firms for the collection of arrears from subscribers is a proactive step taken by the Electricity and Water Authority to ensure the timely recovery of outstanding electricity and water bills. By partnering with legal professionals, the authority is demonstrating its commitment to financial stability and efficient revenue collection processes. Interested law firms have the opportunity to participate in the bidding process to secure a four-year contract for providing legal services related to the recovery of unpaid bills.
