The weekly Cabinet meeting presided over by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa addressed key national and international matters, commending Bahrain’s address at the UN General Assembly. Emphasizing peace as crucial for global prosperity, the speech called for reforms within multilateral organizations to better reflect current geopolitical realities. The Cabinet praised HRH’s meetings with global leaders like the UAE President and the US President at the UNGA, highlighting Bahrain-UAE relations and the importance of advancing diplomatic engagements.

During the meeting, the Cabinet called for de-escalation in the region and stressed the need to uphold Lebanon’s sovereignty to prevent further conflicts. Bahrain’s national unity and social cohesion were affirmed as essential to safeguarding the Kingdom’s stability and achievements. In honor of World Teachers’ Day, the Cabinet expressed gratitude to Bahraini teachers for their role in shaping the nation’s future through education. Additionally, condolences were extended to Saudi Arabia and the UAE for recent tragic incidents, wishing the injured a swift recovery.

Several memorandums were discussed and approved during the meeting, including initiatives to enhance Bahrain’s E-Government services, regulatory procedures for housing services, and ratifying the charter of the Digital Cooperation Organisation. Designating a new tourist site to boost tourism, contributions to international organizations, and discussions on Bahrain’s financial and economic priorities were also on the agenda. The Cabinet reviewed reports on Bahrain’s participation in international forums, including discussions on Gaza and Palestine, meetings with the UK on Middle East affairs, World Tourism Day celebrations, and the 10th Annual World Congress of the World Free Zones Organisation.

The Cabinet also took note of recent foreign visits by Bahraini Ministers and foreign delegations to the Kingdom in September 2024, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic engagements and efforts to strengthen international relations. The discussion emphasized the importance of promoting Bahrain as a key player in the region and contributing to global initiatives for peace and prosperity. The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding Bahrain’s interests and engaging with the international community on various important issues. Through diplomatic efforts and strategic partnerships, Bahrain continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the region and advancing its national interests on the global stage.
