Women made up the majority of new hires, securing 1,121 positions which accounted for 66.4% of all hires, compared to 568 positions filled by men. This trend reflects the pivotal role that women play in the nation-building and progress of Bahrain. The diverse employment landscape also saw a total of 1,689 employees being hired across government agencies, covering 360 different job titles. Educational roles made up 51% of new hires, followed by specialized positions at 29%, general roles at 16%, and executive roles at 4%.

The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) played a crucial role in facilitating these hires, with a total of 8,600 CVs being submitted to ministries and government agencies. Of the new positions, 1,091 were allocated to government ministries, while 598 roles were filled within other government agencies. The CSB managed 17,557 applications through its digital system, specifying 360 job titles throughout the year. Media announcements for six positions attracted 40 qualified applicants, indicating a strong public interest in these job opportunities.

Efficiency was a key factor in the CSB’s operations, as they completed 49,455 procedures related to new employment operations with a remarkable 98.8% completion rate by the end of the year. The bureau’s operational performance system ensured that employee capabilities aligned seamlessly with job expectations and objectives, leading to enhanced organizational effectiveness across government entities. This focus on efficiency and alignment of employee capabilities with job requirements has contributed to the success of government agencies in Bahrain in hiring and retaining talent.

The increasing number of women being hired by government agencies in Bahrain reflects a positive trend towards gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. Women have been able to secure a significant number of positions across various job titles, highlighting their capabilities and contributions to the nation-building process. The CSB’s efforts in facilitating these hires and managing the recruitment process through its digital system have played a crucial role in ensuring that qualified individuals are matched with suitable positions.

The strong public interest in job opportunities within government agencies, as evidenced by the number of qualified applicants for advertised positions, shows the importance of effective communication and outreach in the recruitment process. By leveraging media announcements and digital systems, the CSB has been able to attract a diverse pool of talent and enhance the overall recruitment process. This proactive approach to recruitment and talent management has allowed government agencies in Bahrain to continue to attract top talent and build a skilled workforce that contributes to the nation’s growth and development.

Overall, the data from 2023 highlights the positive strides being made by government agencies in Bahrain towards gender diversity, efficiency in recruitment processes, and alignment of employee capabilities with job requirements. By focusing on these areas, government agencies are able to hire the best candidates for various positions, leading to increased organizational effectiveness and success.
