GCC undersecretaries review joint youth projects

The 40th meeting of Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Youth and Sports in the GCC countries was recently held in Doha, Qatar. The meeting was chaired by Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth H E Abdul Rahman bin Muslim Al-Dosari, with the participation of Undersecretaries from various GCC countries as well as Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs of the General Secretariat of GCC H E Khalid bin Ali bin Salem Al-Sunaidi.

During the meeting, various topics related to youth in the GCC countries were discussed, including the formation of technical committees affiliated with the Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports to comply with decisions made in previous sessions. The representatives also discussed the future work plan of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports Committee for the years 2024-2030, focusing on creating unified Gulf projects in the field of youth work and developing the “Gulf Youth Development Index”.

The vision for organizing a joint Gulf program in the field of humanitarian volunteer work for 2024 was reviewed, as well as the general framework for the Third Gulf Youth Forum and the Gulf Youth Day for the year 2024. The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening international strategic partnerships and dialogues in the youth field, benefiting from the experiences and capabilities of other countries and organizations to serve the youth of the GCC countries.

The recommendations made during the meeting will be presented at the 37th meeting of the Committee of Their Highnesses, Excellencies Ministers of Youth and Sports of GCC countries, scheduled to be held soon. The aim of these recommendations is to further enhance cooperation and collaboration among GCC countries, as well as with Jordan and Morocco in the youth field. By working together and sharing experiences, the youth in the GCC countries will be better equipped to achieve their hopes and aspirations.

Overall, the meeting in Doha was a fruitful gathering where important topics related to youth in the GCC countries were discussed and plans for the future were laid out. By focusing on collaboration, international partnerships, and the development of youth-related projects, the GCC countries aim to create a better future for their younger generations. The commitment and dedication of the participants in the meeting highlight the importance of investing in youth and ensuring their success and well-being in the years to come.
