FIAP recognizes winners of the University World Photography Cup China

The Sultanate of Oman has recently achieved success in the first edition of the “1st Universities & Academies Photographic World Cup” held in Jinan, China. The National University of Science and Technology from Oman secured second place among world universities and academic institutions, showcasing the talent and skill of Omani photographers on a global scale. Among individual participants, Maria Mohammed Al Rahbi from Sultan Qaboos University stood out by earning second place among students from various universities and academic institutions around the world. Additional recognition was given to Al Waleed Al Amri from Sultan Qaboos University and Nawf Al Siyabi from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, who both received medals of appreciation from the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).

Certificates of appreciation were also presented to a group of talented photographers: Ru’aa Al Shuaili, Ahmed Al Shehhi, and Mohammed Al Shu’aili from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, as well as Sara Al Ghatrafi and Maather Al Ghatrafi from the National University of Science and Technology. Other recipients included Rashid Al Naabi from the German University of Technology, Saleh Al Khadouri from the Middle East College, and Wahab Al Kindi from Sultan Qaboos University. Their outstanding contributions to the competition were acknowledged by FIAP, highlighting the diverse range of photographic talent emerging from Oman’s educational institutions.

The FIAP recognized the top performers at both the university and individual levels, with awards presented to institutions and photographers from around the world. At the university level, the winners were named as follows: (1) Bengal Academy of Photography, (2) National University of Science and Technology from Oman, and (3) Padang Panjak Academy of Arts from Indonesia. These institutions showcased their exceptional photography skills and creativity, earning international recognition for their work. On an individual level, first place was awarded to Sri Lankan photographer Isora Nimantha, while Maria bint Mohammed Al Rahbi from Sultan Qaboos University claimed second prize. The third spot was secured by Iranian photographer Arash Kaki, highlighting the diverse range of talent represented in the competition.

The success of Omani photographers in the “1st Universities & Academies Photographic World Cup” reflects the growing interest and talent emerging from the Sultanate of Oman’s educational institutions. The recognition and awards received by National University of Science and Technology, Sultan Qaboos University, and University of Technology and Applied Sciences demonstrate the dedication and skill of students and faculty involved in the field of photography.
